Recycled Orchestra Workshops

In these workshops, students will collect recycled and reused materials (using a provided materials list) and then build their own invented musical instruments assisted by Philip Lipton.  The hands-on nature of the workshop means that students gain first-hand knowledge of the science of sound and how musical instruments work, as well as the environmental lessons.  A single-session workshop culminates with a short performance that will inspire the teacher to further exercises.  In medium-length residencies (1-3 workshops) students can create and perform musical stories using their newly-built instruments.
